A Nigerian singer, David Adeleke (also known as Davido) has ended his custody case over his first daughter, Imade, after an emotional courtroom clash. The decision has a topic of discussion all over social media. Davido went to court seeking joint custody of Imade with her mother, Sophia Momodu. The case, which started since April 2024, was heard in the Lagos State High Court, Yaba, where the singer wanted to be fully present in Imade's life. This got a lot of attention because both parents are popular. The mata turn yam pepper scatter scatter in February 2026.

One of the lawyers said something about Davido’s late son, Ifеanyі Adeleke, and this deeply pained the singer. Davido said the statement is unprofessional. After the disagreement, he dropped the custody claim, saying the courtroom drama was too

stressful and not in Imade’s best interest.

In a public post, Davido said he was not walking away from his daughter. Instead, he said the legal battle was not worth the pain it caused. “There is nothing to celebrate,” he wrote. “Nobody won, nobody lost, but Imade.” He said that his decision was about

peace for his daughter and not a surrender. After he left the court, Davido went online to drag a gospel artist, Tosin Bee, thinking he

was the son of the lawyer who made him angry. He later apologised after seeing his mistake. With the legal case now dropped, many expect both parents to find a private arrangement for Imade’s care. As of now, there is no confirmed update on any new

custody agreement.

In the end, this may end up in fewer court meetings and focus more on co‑parenting quietly, for the sake of Imade’s peace and happiness.
